BUCKETS

Buckets represents, for us, our natural progression in steel frame design and build.

I was and will always be a fan of Dario Pegoretti and his legacy that continues today. He, in my opinion, brought modern steel bike design - kicking and screaming into the 21st Century. Nobody knew they wanted those bikes when he rolled in with those bikes - way oversized steel tubed bikes - not oversized aluminum, steel - and then, well people rode them, and then they did want them! Steel is real but it has seldom been so relevant as it is today with advances in treating, butting, and extruding techniques.

So, with a blend of Columbus Zona and Life tubing, our current track bike is anything but old-school.

Columbus Life 44mm downtube / C-Life 35mm top tube and Seat Tube / all C-Life stays to stick the rear forks - Zona in the head tube and seat tube for reliability and vertical strength - it has the look of an oversized aluminum bike but it’s high-end steel. It rides like steel. It makes sense that steel tubes have been advancing all along as well right? - and thankfully so! I feel in some way that these oversized life tubes wouldn’t even be here today without Dario’s influence, possibly, on Columbus; but definitely his influence on the world bicycle community at large and how it relates to the idea of a high-end steel bicycle frame.

So if you like the way that all sounds - check out the tech specs and pricing in the link below -

Buckets has the same tried and true geometry as our STClassic set in a compact frame and sporting a massive 44mm down tube that really wraps up the 1’1/8 head tube.

Large diameter tubes meet up with the standards of the industry.

We ovalize our large Down Tube them miter with care as it joins our 1”1/8 Head Tube

- why not a tapered head tube?

1”1/8 is a long-standing standard of our industry that gives our customers the most flexibility in parts choice, repair, and replacement for years to come - but not only this, it’s simply the best compromise in terms of strength and performance when paired to a Wound-Up fork.

  • 1”1/8 is a hard industry standard - no drama, no drama

  • Wound-Up track fork is so damn solid, it’s all we design around and it has a bomber-proof 1”1/8 set up - dialed.

  • don’t have to oversized (taper) if it’s already legit -

  • and did we mention how strong the wound-up is??
