Montano grew up riding road and track in the 80’s. Bay Area mechanic that ended up running a local bike shop ‘Montano-Velo’ for 15 years in Oakland and has been dragging bike designs into 3 dimensions since 2005. From an early age, Montano became obsessed with bike geometry and the unique physics of bicycle handling characteristics. With 25 years of bicycle mechanic and fitting experience, and 40 years of road and track riding; Montano has set out to make great handling rigs that not only fit and perform but follow industry standards - ensuring that the end-user is not backed into the corner of this industry’s manufacturing greed and proprietary tomfoolery (fool stop). Oh, and they are local yay-area and cool as f*@&!
Jason Grove

Tacoma-Dome rail master, and
aerospace as hell. Grove grew up outside the Seattle - Tacoma area in the late 80’s and into the 90’s where he certified to the hilt in professional welding while recovering from a nasty leg injury. After a successful aerospace level career began there, he found his interests pointing in the direction of bicycles and so he set out to learn the art of tig welding bicycle frames. He welded for Control-Tech back in the day and then studied frame building under the expert eyes of Carl Strong - moved to Oakland where he met Jason Montano and the rest is history. Single-pass, gas-backed, beautiful no polish welds are what Broaklands have become known for and Grove is the reason why.
